Thank you for your interest in Aleph! Transparency is key to us, so we’ve created this interview process so you know what to expect. Ideally, we would like to complete this process in 2-3 weeks, depending on availability.
Each stage is dependent upon the outcome of prior conversations. We hope you are as excited as we are!
For our coding interviews, we use replit and recommend you to set up an account before the interview to familiarize yourself with the platform. Here is our own recording of setting up replit to help you prepare! Come prepared to screenshare.
Meet with us for an introductory conversation. This will usually be with one of our Recruiters although the Hiring Manager may also step in if the Recruiter is out. Come prepared to answer a few questions relevant to your experience, interests, and the role.
Meet with an engineer for a practical coding exercise. This is less about quickly coming up with an algorithm to solve a well-specified problem and more about navigating a complex problem and connecting existing code to provide an effective solution. During this interview, you’ll have more time to write (more) code.
For this interview, we ask that you use one of the languages in our stack: TypeScript or JavaScript. You won’t need knowledge of any external libraries to complete the task. At the beginning of the interview, we will share a link to an online coding environment that you will use to write your solution.
At this stage, we will schedule 3-4 interviews in tandem, across multiple days.
Backend OR Frontend Coding - 45 mins
Depending on your specialization, you will meet with an engineer for a frontend React-based coding or backend coding exercise. In this interview, we'll test your software design skills with an open-ended problem.
We'll collaborate using either React or Typescript.
